Mr. Puryear’s Sculpture by Harvey Tillis. I enjoyed this and wanted to share. The Art Institute of Chicago presented a Special Exhibit “of over 100 drawings and prints as well as 12 sculptures by Martin Puryear. This exhibition offered an unprecedented look into Puryear’s inspirations, methods, and transformative process.” Through May 1, 2016.
Girls’ Night Out by Harvey Tillis is a moment in time on any Friday night in the city. I knew when I shot this that I wanted to create a painting-like quality for the image. Make faces just soft enough so they couldn’t quite identify the people. Emphasize the colors and mood of the evening. Provide lots to look at. I like “lots to look at.”
Late Night Business by Harvey Tillis is another example of street photography and an homage to Edward Hopper who greatly influenced the way I see. I leaned back from my screen to view how it all looked and instantly realized that I had channeled Edward Hopper’s influence into the image…again.

I was attracted by the vertical lines and signage. Photoshop helped me bring out some details and contrast, but most of all emphasized the brightness of this scene.
