Serenading Sam’s Wife

Serenading Sam's Wife by Harvey Tillis

I heard live music nearby early on a quiet Sunday morning while bike riding. Followed the sound to this house. Seven musicians including a trumpet, three guitars, two violins and a singer were serenading someone inside. The smiling man nearby introduced himself as Sam. He hires musicians every Mother’s Day to play for his lovely wife, the mother of his children. Afterwards he takes them to play for his own mother.
