Art Fans

color photo of two people viewing a Steinlen painting at Chicago's Art Institute

Several years ago I documented a special event at Chicago’s Art Institute where guests were allowed to view an extensive exhibit after hours of Toulouse-Lautrec and some of his contemporaries. Here are two guests, I think of them as Art Fans, who stayed an extra long time studying and enjoying this beautiful painting named “The Street (La rue)” that Théophile Alexandre Steinlen created for the printer Charles Verneau in 1896.
